· Add onions and garlic to pan and saute until softened and translucent. Add flour to skillet and stir for 1 minute. Stir in beer, brown sugar, ketchup, thyme and bay leaf. Add pork chops back into the skillet; simmer uncovered for 10 minutes or until pork chops are fully cooked, flipping once.

Place a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat, and add enough oil to shallow fry the pork chops (about ¾ cup); once the oil is hot and shimmering, work in batches by adding a couple of the breaded pork chops into the hot oil, and fry for about 3 to 4 minutes per side, until each side is golden-brown; place on a wire rack to drain, and repeat with remaining pork chops.
